Cbody Bob's and Wollfen's great big adventure

The paste tastes better.

I can’t remember if I ever ate the paste. Although as a little kid, I probably did. We always seemed to be daring each other to eat something. Someone would kill a bug, and someone else would say, "I dare you eat it." And then I’d end up eating a bug, so eating paste would’ve been nothing.

Day 4 was a no drama day & things went rather smooth. Gary arrived at my place around 9 am. We load a rear axel , wheels & springs onto my trailer for the trip to Siler City. The Charger he bought doesn’t have a rear in it & we though it would be easier to load. Gary called the auctioneer Friday to see if he could have his tractor there. He agreed. So when we got there Gary’s Charger was the last car left on the property. I backed the trailer up to it & the auctioneer was able to lift the back of the car & I easily backed under it. We got it strapped down. Chatted with the auctioneer a bit. Gary called a guy he knows who live a little further up the road & has a lot of E body parts. The guy invited us over so off we went. Yes he has indeed got a lot of E body parts. So it was about 4 pm & knowing we still had 5 hours of windshield time we set a course for Greenville. Finally arrived at around 7:30 Unloaded the Charger & a lot of parts. Then off to get a bit to eat which lead us to a Dairy Queen fast food place. I couldn’t get Gary to back to Waffle House. We made a deal for Gary to work on my 66 Barracuda so I’ll be bringing it down to his shop soon. It needs floor pans. And a little lower quarter work. I won’t have thread on that car as it will be just thrown together with parts I have just to sell. Maybe make a street legal Gasser. Not going to tie a lot of money up in it. Also we got some leads on some more cars so hopefully we can have some more cars to save or a tow least get pics of. So I guess there will be a part 5 to this story soon. Stay tuned ....

The 66 Barracuda. Yea I know it’s has 65 fenders on it. I got a lead on some fenders. Also some pics on what I have in mind for this car.

I got home just after midnight, took a long distance look at the charger, went upstairs, fell into bed and snored the night away. Long day and am glad all that is over with and I can try to get back to "normal." I told Bob, let's not do that again for another year! Of course, that won't work out will it?

nice work ! so, i know you are just getting settled, but any basic info on the Charger? original drivetrain? If not, no problem. thanks.

We’ve had a lot of weather here but I finally got the Barracuda loaded up & im head to Wollfen’s shop Saturday. Gary is going to put new floors in & fix the lower quarters & fenders. That’s a new bolt on fiberglass hood. Not a pin on. Pretty rare.

hey bob n wolfen you boys get out there , ever seen one of these rims , it's a 18x6 early american racing magnesium . i'm still on the hunt for . these were on tommy groves melrose missile car back in 62 when he bought it to bonny salt flat and went 165ish in the melrose missile #1 car . he chunked a wheel and it was over for the timed runs . so i can have it fitted but its not a good one , casting offset made it thin after the machining .
