*FOUND* Miller special tool of unknown application

Greetings all. This evening in my work room, I rediscovered an old tool I purchased some 25+ years ago at a flea market. It appears to be some sort of seal driver. Stamped on the tool are the words Miller Tools, Detroit C-579. I was hoping someone can help me solve the mystery as to its intended purpose. It works great on helping install the wheel bearing seal on the brake rotors for my 73' Polara, but I would be interested as to what it was originally made for.

If I remember correctly, being a 3 digit number it's probably 1950's or earlier. A picture would help, but if it works as a seal driver, then it's a seal driver.
