That is a truly outstanding Newport! It looks like new. Tell us more (maybe you have already and I missed it?) Is it original or restored, miles on it, where did you get it etc. We need interior and underhood photos too! Is that your set of garages or a storage facility - looks remarkable too.

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you,

It sure looks like new but as it is from 1971 it has little damages at some places but nothing serious.
I bought this car here in the Netherlands in 2007. It was imported here in 1998. According to the previous owner it had a re-paint, that's all: no restoration, fully original. Now it has 55000 miles on it. The garages you see are from different owners/tenants. We put our cars in there. Compared to the garages in the US they are very small and actually not suitable for big American iron :sFl_america2:, but I manage as you can see on the pics..

And as I said, more pics....100_2394.jpg100_2632.jpg100_2634.jpg100_2644.jpg100_2652.jpg100_2654.jpg

Nice car! Those fuselage cars are growing on me more and more. Looks like a cozy garage!

Nice ride luigi. Take care of that cancer spot in the trunk asap before it grows. Would hate to see it spread.

That's a real beauty! It sounds like you're proud and you should be!

Very Nice! Thank you for posting!

I'm glad there is a good following in Europe for these cars! It's in a good home.

Mighty fine machine there, Luigi. I really like the color of your car. Very tasteful and classy.

Thank you,

And the color, that's a big question for me so now you've seen the pics, maybe someone can help me:

According to the fender tag ánd built-sheet I have, the colorcode is GY4.

Viseted several websites to find out the name of the color. According to this website:

http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorco...er&model=All&color=All&action=Get+Paint+Codes

it should be Light Gold.

According to this: http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/chipdisplay.cgi?year=1971&manuf=Chrysler&smodel=Imperial&info=&page=1

it's Honeydew.

To me I think it's Lemon Twist ( Y1) ?? It's very confusing and have been searching on the web for info but I still don't know :gah:

Here a pic from the tag:

sorry for the foreign battery

Luigi, I have the factory data and trim book that has the original color chips in it and Y4 is Honeydew, which is very close to the color on your car. Like Dave said, if it were Y1, you would certainly know it. The Lemon Twist shown in the second link you post is way off - it is a very bright yellow. I have a 1971 Imperial in Y4, and I like it a lot. It has a subtle elegance to it.

Hi Luigi,

this colour sheet from HH should help you, too

GY4 is called Honeydew on Chrysler/Imperial as well as gold on Dodge models. But it is the same colour.

Carsten

interesting side note:

The colour GY4 seems to have beeen originally only available on Dodge and Imperial Full Size. Not on Plymouths and Chryslers. But your car has the code clearly on the tag. But it is pretty late built (SPD 16th of June 1971) and the colour might have been available on Chryslers by that time, too.

Thank you all for the info. It must be Honey Dew as the tag says
Perhaps it's because I'm a little bit colorblind and I don't see it right...??

Anyway, now I can go to the paintshop here and armed with the codes try to find the right paint. I've got a few spots that need touch-up..

I would like to see some pics of that Imperial.
