Hemi Rocker Arms

Hi folks, I orderd the Ray Barton Rockers. So now I know what I have . Just to complete this thread. :VB toast:

Hi guys,
I just want to give a little update.
The hemi still isnt done yet. I had to get new pistons with the bigger valve pockets. Cause the Indy heads have the big intake valves with 2.4".
I orderd over Ray Barton new Diamond pistons and increased the compression ratio from 9.5:1 to 10.25:1.
Because the performance is rising and rising I better orderd new rods and a new crank too. Its a never ending story...
The crank, rods, pistons, new pushrods are still in the states. I proberbly can get the parts in the end of june.
Unfortuntaly when I can get the car on the road, summer is almost over..

I put some pics below.
I improved my transmisson. Its still a manual reverse pattern, but it was totally refurbished with all A and A racing parts. Hopefully it will handel the horses.

Nice progress!

What octane fuel are you able to get your hands on over there?

Nice shop!

Its not a shop, just a kind of hometown garage :)
nothing serious.
Most of time I take 100 octan shell V power racing. There is another gas station where I can get 102 octan.
So that will work .

Love that Dodge. Mighty fine looking motor too. oops, ah engine.

The confederacy is now headquartered in Berlin. as in Germany, lol.

Hi guys,
here are some updates. I had to change everything. Now I have all the parts. I am still remachining some things (rocker baseplates..)
I am now starting to work on the engine. My old pistons didnt fit the new heads/valves. So I unfortunatly had to order new pistons. After that, I decided that the 440 source crank and rods maybe are not good enough for the new performance. So I need to order new and better parts.

So bla bla. It became a Indy Maxx Aluminum hemi block, ray barton did the machining and made a short block out of it. The rest I am doing by myself. But stil have some problems.
In addition to that, the Polara gets the calvert racing suspension kit, a FFI front swaybar and a painless wiring harness. So thats whats new for now :)

Best regards, Michael.

I admire your exceptional dedication to speed and to your ever evolving project!!!

Well done!!!

I know this is an old thread but couldn't help making a reply. This is an awesome project, never seen a elephant motor in one of these big hipped ole cars. Engine looks bad to the bone ! Any updates on the progress ?

There is video on the internet and probably on a thread on this site (somewhere) with this car racing on an old airstrip in Germany I believe with 4 people in the car and beer in the trunk too. LOL!

It'll be a lot fster now with all the improvements that he is making. I hope he runs it on a timed 1/4 mile track. I'm curious how fast he can blaze the 1/4 mile.

.....Machining the rocker base plates...... Oh my heart goes out to this guy Michael. We just finished and dyno'd a 572 pump gas Hemi, World Products block, Stage V cylinder heads with the Ray Barton rockers. They are pretty and there is a huge amount of work involved in getting them up and running along with the rest of the Hemi. And working out the problems from Germany! I wish you all the best of luck Michael.
