I finally got to restoring the kick plate trim on my 69 sport fury

A tip for install/removal is to "tap" them in/out of position by using a wooden paint stick (and a hammer).

I finally got back to restoring the trim for the drivers side kick plate. I did things a bit different on this side that saved me about 30 hours of elbow grease sanding off the anodized Coating. I used easy off oven cleaner, it worked extremely well !!! Then I did a wet sand then used a sizzle wheel on a 5” angle grinder then used a brass and silver polish for the last step. It took about 20 hours to bring it to a nice shine. I’m not including the 4 hrs of tapping out the small dints in the trim that time can vary depending on how many dints you have. I’m going to post a few pictures of the process in my next post

I started installing the freshly rechromed bummpers. I will have some more pictures later of them installed. Beware if you start this process buy new bumper bolts , I had to cut at least half off them off !

I say this with the deepest of sincerity , that is the nicest 69 Sport Fury I've ever seen.
I've seen a lot since I owned one and they stand out to me, I'm not a red car guy but, BUT ..... WOW.
You should be extremely proud.

C bodies up North get plenty of love, Moparfest reflects this

Thanks for the compliments. It’s great to see these C Bodies getting the attention they so richly deserved and thanks to everyone in fcbo. This site has answered a lot of questions I had about my car. On March 2-4 my C body will be in The world of wheels/ Autorama in Edmonton with 300 other cars for all to enjoy and hopefully I can get the Younger generation interested in these incredible cars.
