Lets Play A Game: Last Of The Convertibles

And here is yet another 1970 T-code 'vert. CM27T0C150536 is for sale by a dealer in PA. SBD was October 24, 1969.

Here is a Newport for a change. CE27L0C157328 went up for sale in Colorado this summer, but the fender tag never showed up. Here is the build sheet for records (@69CoronetRT, @cuda hunter).

FY6 Citron Gold originally, now repainted slightly differently. Gold vinyl bench interior, not many options but a nice car and in good shape. I hope that it went to a good home.

Thanks to @InTheTube we have the tag of CM27T0C170864. I have posted a lot of info and photos in ITT's thread here. This 300 has a 426 Hemi! As per the info on the BluFaro registry:

"First Owner - Anthony Boccaccio ordered the car new from a dealer in New Jersey. Research seems to indicate he bought the car and had a Chrysler dealership in Bristol, Tenn. convert the 300 from the 440 V8 it came with from the factory to a 426 Hemi with assistance from Hurst Performance. The conversion was reportedly quite difficult and complex and required true experts to pull it off - which they did! Boccaccio sold the car in the early 80's. We've tried to contact Mr. Boccaccio or members of his family to verify information about the Hemi conversion. So far, we have not been able to verify the story.

Second Owner - Steve McCloud is the one who bought it from Boccaccio. He lived in Knoxville, Tenn. McCloud, a well known Chrysler collector, also owned the famous 1 of 1 Factory built 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst Hemi Convertible known to exist. That car is known as the 'Parade Float' appeared all over the country during promotional tours and included a platform for the iconic Miss Hurst, Linda Vaughn, to stand on. McCloud also owned this car, a "Special Edition" version with a black interior and was born a T-code 350hp engine. He owned this car for a short time and sold it to focus his collection on 'Factory Built' Chryslers.

Third Owner - Dr. Guy Reed bought the car around 1990 and started a six month restoration of the car at Buck Herron's Collector's Restorations, Inc. in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Fourth Owner - J. Johnston purchased the car on June 4, 1995 from the Dr. Reed Collection through Leake Auction in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Leake promoted the car as a "One-off custom by Hurst." Mr. Johnston's grandson inherited the car and is the current owner.

I think I saw this car once.

I'm fuzzy on where though... It might have been at Carlisle around 1992... or it may have been at the Mopar Nats (last year that they were at Indy) 1984?

I don't remember the convertible top and no, I didn't take a pic (film and processing costs LOL) I do remember it was just sitting by itself, kind of parked in a strange place, so I'm leaning towards the Nats...

Drum roll: thanks to @fc7_plumcrazy I was alerted to a 1970 Polara 'vert that has was just listed for sale in Bury St Edmunds, UK. The seller sent the build sheet (@cuda hunter and @69CoronetRT will be disappointed that, not for the first time with a Polara 'vert, the build sheet is not filled and only has a few characters handwritten with a big marker pen -- that was my experience with Poppy, my 1970 Polara 'vert).

The fender tag that the seller also shared is rusty but more useful -- looks like DL27L0D270075 (I don't think it is DL27L0D270073 let alone DL27L0D270078 -- please chime in folks), an EW1 with the A35 trailer-towing package. 383-2 only, but that tow setup is a big deal in my book. The seller is asking 3,500 pound sterling, and this may be worth it if the car is solid. Caveat emptor, but I hope it gets saved.

Scheduled build date: May 25, 1970 (again, that is rusty and hard to decipher, but is consistent with the sequence of 100+ Polara 'verts in the registry).

Polara Dave sequence: V3W (now black) A01 A35 B41 G11 L31 M25 M31 R11 Y05 Y14 26 END (no V5B code but I see blue inserts from the FB pics)

Hope the new owner takes better care of it.
Out in the elements. Out in the dirt.

Today, I submit a Canadian-market 1970 Fury iii 'vert: PM27G0D113098 has a C-VON. Not many options, but very nicely taken care of. The car was originally FK3, was first repainted white, then purple. For once, the non-OEM color looks great. SBD was August 29, 1969.

The car is currently for sale an hour south of Calgary in Alberta, Canada.

Thanks to @67newport we have another EB7 300 'vert. Unfortunately, this one (for sale on FB in East Canton, OH) is in poor shape:

"This is a roller, no drivetrain. Has body filler on outsides, floors are good, trunk has some rot but solid overall. Bumpers are in decent shape. Interior and engine bay taken apart but most parts are inside car. Have the metal inner fender wells as well. Clean title in hand in my name. Asking 2000 obo"

The seller posted the fender tag, so we know that the SBD was Nov. 6, 1969. The car is well equipped, including H53 ATC.

Just got an alert, this one was reduced to $1500. This would make a great parts car, I only wish it had been around when I needed one. I even see a power antenna in the front seat, dang.

Thanks to @detmatt in this thread, we now have the tag of PM27L0D233366 -- a special order FC7 Plum Crazy Fury iii 'vert. SBD was April 27, 1970. Very nicely equipped for enjoyment (R35 AM/FM muptiplex radio, P31 power windows, N88 cruise control, S62 rim blow wheel,...). I linked in the thread to posts by @fc7_plumcrazy and @hankchinaski explaining how the car was sold to Murray Park cars ago.

Ooooo, I love it. That's definitely a rare one!!

AFAICT, we don't have a record of CM27T0C166973 even though the fender tag and VIN were posted by @barnfind in a "for sale not mine" thread back in 2018.

EB3 repainted baby blue, Nov. 18 SBD. As the FS thread shows, the car was quite rusty -- I have seen no evidence/mention of the car since then.

CM27T0C147731 lives in Finland. @furyfinn posted photos of that DY3 300 and of her tag back in 2015.
When I make mistakes, I try to correct them. I just noticed, while looking up records for a member, that I had misread the tag of CM23T0C147731 and mistaken the car type -- it is a 2dr hardtop, not a 'vert. Sorry, CM27T0C147731 never did exist...

Here is CE27L0C237481 -- an EB7 Newport 'vert (repainted white at some point) with E6X9 black vinyl buckets interior and V3X black top that @dart66gt considered buying in 2014. The car was in rough shape then, and dart66gt stopped posting in 2015 -- I have not heard from him or seen the car since.

Here is the tag for records, showing a SBD of May 15, 1970.

I don't believe that I have seen this link to the 1970 300 Hurst convertible posted before. The VIN is CM27U0C231583. According to the info here, it is 1 of 1 -- I do see the Q VON, and the exhaust tips and rear bumperettes match those of George Hurst's car that @Fury Pursuit owns. The fender tag is the same (watch Trev’s video at 10:54).

Interestingly, the SBD on the 'vert is May 5, 1970 (not like 300 Hurst coupes that all have the sam January SBD, if I remember @Trace 300 Hurst correctly).

That'd because this car isn't a 300 Hurst (obviously). And I would guess that Trevor's car has an SBD "all its own", too. I think Trevor disagrees with me on this, but all Hursts I've seen including those online (and as we have discussed here) have the January 25 SBD but a range of dates on the VIN door decal, mostly April and May from what I've documented.

Here's the fender tag from the prototype Hurst, with a September 24 1969 SBD.....as a 1970 car, starting life in FT6 livery. (0 in the VIN)
