The Admiral was destroyed in a crash a few weeks back. I haven't giving much thought to it until just recently. I know what Ellie would say ..... Replace it ! So it's time to move on with this.
Not likely going to find a direct replacement. It would need to be a 69 or 70 Custom suburban. small block, A/C, in drive home condition. And I would discount any green, brown or gold cars. baring any extreme good luck, it's not likely to turn up anytime soon.
So I've expanded my search to a 1972-82 Dodge 1500 or 2500 club cab pickup, or a 65-70 A100 or A108 travco van. Must be a V8 auto as it will need to tow Connie. A/C a plus.
If I have to I will put the hitch back on Jazabelle and tow Connie to Carlisle that way.
If anyone here crosses paths with one of the above..... let me know, will travel for a drive home vehicle.

I will put the word out to my friend who is Mr Mopar in my area, he always seems to find some unique Mopar.

Would an A100 have the towing capacity that you need?

1982 Dodge Truck

Thanks Mark. I know how good you are at sniffing the goods ones out.
As of now I plan to attend Carlisle. My vendor spaces are paid for, hate to waste that. If nothing turns up I will tow Connie with Jazebelle.

Glad to hear that you're on the hunt and planning on making the trip to Carlisle. I only know of one rig in my area, it's a 71 D100 sweptline (though it's 4wd and beefed up in a number of ways) with a 318/standard...nothing you'd be interested in considering your year range, the fact that it's a single cab and the body could use some work but it does come with new doors and a few other things.... I was considering it but need a daily.
Anyway, if I see anything I'll let you know. Be well and keep the dream alive, man.

Have you ever seen A/C on any A-100 or 108 Friend Will? They're ah gawd awful lookin' square metal box on the roof that runz almost drip rail to drip rail and leave fist size holez in the roof, UGG. NOW, the saving grace iz after you find your Travco, Start looking for '85 to '98 minivanz with A/Cz in two locationz. 1, behind the drivers captainz chair in the bulkhead with no left side sliding door on that side and 2, a rear A/C in the right side panel above the passenger tail lite AND GRAB EVERY THING INCLUDING ALL DUCT WORK FROM BOTH UNITZ 'CEPT THE CONDENSER. Then find the A/C compressor and bracketz AND CONDENSER from ah late '80z 318 Aspin or similar F-body and get all those goodyz INCLUDING, DRYER, AND HEATER+ EVAPORATOR. Now you've got dual A/C Pal, and it'z R134... Ask me how I know this, Jer lol

Just a heads up Will on the mid '70's truck, my brother had a '76 Dodge 1/2 ton Club Cab, 8-foot bed, 2-wd, and it had a HUGE turning radius which made for very difficult maneuvering in anything close to a tight location, and that was without pulling a trailer. Oh yeah, normally I drive an '08 2500 Quad Cab, 8ft. bed, 4-wd, and his '76 was much worse as far as maneuverability is concerned.
I'll keep an eye out here for anything that might work for you, good luck!
