Ok, I'm going to try this car here before eBay (where I will also do my usual video and underbody shots on a lift). It's your chance to score a deal because there are a few weekends worth of work I would do before selling it there, but honestly I'm trying to move some iron so I can concentrate on the Sundance project... And my minivan restoration, and my Mexican Ramcharger, and my house remodel, and.... you get the idea. Time is valuable to me right now. So if you're interested, let's talk about ugly things like price over PM. The number I seek is more than 5, well under 10.

Story: Saw this car on eBay in around 2003. At that time it had 28,000 miles and pretty crummy photos. I gambled, won it, flew out to Oakland, California, had huevos rancheros with the sellers, then drove it home along the coast, through Vegas, Phoenix, etc. Fixed a few little things while I owned it, then a friend wanted to buy it. I sold it to him with "first right of refusal", which he honored and I bought it back around 2014. By that point, there was no saving the dealer-installed vinyl top so I stripped it off and decided it looked bald. But I didn't want to put the vinyl back... Figuring the next owner might not want it. So I painted the roof satin black. Last year I did some more cleaning/fix up. (You'll see those pics below)

Stored it this winter in a warehouse. Prep consisted of removing the battery cable. Yesterday I reconnected it, cranked it for 5-6 seconds and fired it up. Been driving it around since with a big smile on my face. This is one of the best running, most original and overall nice cars I've owned. I had originally thought of popping out the 318 and replacing it with a spare 440 I have... creating an S/43 if you will. But its just such a nice survivor I couldn't bring myself to do it. It has no trouble keeping up with traffic and cruising 25 miles to work @ 80 all the way. It has disc brakes and an AM radio for listening to our one remaining Canadian music station (580 CKWW) and Dennis Prager. Let the photos begin...

Dash does have two splits near the center speaker. Sorry, manual vents.

I painted these stripes myself back in '03. They've weathered since then and taken on a pretty cool "patina". Or you can use a buffing wheel and polish them off!

In this view, you can see a "soft dent" on the Lt. Rr 1/4 panel. A good paintless guy could fix it and I'll probably have that done before I go (inter)national with it.

Oh yeah, the reason I'd go paintless is because all the paint is original (except for small touch ups, chips, etc.) As you can tell in these pics...

47-years ago in Belvedere, IL a paint run was born but never grew.

Same paintless story here on the front fender.

I generally do not keep these trunk mats in position because they are just moisture traps. Chrysler would have been so far ahead (and probably a cost save) to have just developed some kind of bed-liner back in the day. The rust you see is essentially "stains" from the years when the mat was in place. Probably from dew, because it doesn't leak.

(I also pull the plugs so air circulates. The good news is you get all those parts + the washer bottle I repaired but have yet to install.

I pulled the tailights out last summer. The are the screws which aren't frozen into the diecast housings...
IMG_20160820_071537_zpsujjhlrdm.jpg

I also added a little R-12 to the system. It engages and runs quiet, but it's not cooling. I have yet to troubleshoot, but I suspect a stuck THX valve.

(don't go by those gauge readings, I've only got the low side open for the charge)

More pics coming.

Pulled the carpet out for a hard scrub. Though about installing new stuff, but the OEM came back really well.

When I removed the top, I wire wheeled anything that looked remotely cruddy. Then I gave it a coat of (silver) Rust Bullet before the semi-gloss black. The rips in the seat tops have been repaired by sewing in a piece of matching blue vinyl to the inserts. 99% of people would never know the difference and I've tried to preserve as much of this car as OEM as possible.

What could be more wholesome and all-American then a '70 Plymouth parked at a baseball field?

Feel free to ask questions. It's for sale here until I consider it Lakeland-Lashed enough for eBay.

:BangHead: I want it

Truth be known, it kills me to sell it. I wanted to last summer, but every time I drove it I changed my mind. Then I bought a '69 Imperial. Then the '73 Polara Sundance. Then a '76 Monaco. Then a torched '72 Monaco. Then a minivan. Then another minivan. Then a Mexican Ramcharger. Then an AWD minivan for parts.

And that's not counting all my other crap.

My mental heath professional says I need to let go, or at least get a larger garage. But that won't happen until I sell the house I'm re-building on cloudy days when I don't work on cars!

What's your bottom line price on everything you own?

This beautiful Sport Fury is causing me some really evil thoughts tonight. :mob:

My 70 Sport Fury GT has the same color interior, but is in the exact opposite condition as this one. So here I am doing the math and asking myself whether it would be cost effective to buy this car and use it as a parts car for my GT?!!! You know, I would be money and time ahead to do just that, as when I look at all the items I have to make like new on my car, this one is already there! The bucket seats, dashpad, instrument cluster, front grille and bumper, wheels and a whole list of other parts on the body of the car as well as underhood that are already nice really add up quick in terms of value compared to what it would cost for me to make mine like new.

But I also know that if I really bought this car, I couldn't violate it even if it would be cost/time effective. So I would just end up with another car that I would have to let go too.

You have very similar taste in cars as I do, as I also have a 69 Imperial, a SFGT, a 1973 Monaco 2 dr. and I just sold my 1973 Dodge Adventurer Sport. And while not exactly the same as yours, I have my newest car, a 1997 Chrysler Concorde. I already miss my Dodge truck though:

No need for you to see a shrink. I gave up on that need years ago. It was hopeless for me and I knew it! And even though I have a lot of car work to do, I am also rennovating my house at this time, as it was built in 1929, and I also have a ways to go!

Good luck with the sale of that beauty!

yeah that car is wayyyyyyyyy too nice to part.
and hey that truck was unreal clean,
you must have taken great care of it.

I couldn't sell that one if it were mine for several reasons, first one being its originality, love that!

Nice ride.

Great car Carmine...I love how solid and original it is. The interior really sets the whole car off. Best of luck selling and thanks for posting up all the great pics!
