MY Unicorn X RARE 69 Monaco 500 Convertible

A local friend has a K-code '69 Sport Fury convertible as well. Very unusual but I guess optional! Probably wasn't much more to get the L-code.
Okay , but sold new in the US.....?

He bought it in NY years ago but I guess its possible it could have came down from Canada. It was originally built in the states though and not the Windsor plant.

PM27K9D316673 has an SBD of July 3, 1969. Must be the last known date for a 1969 ´vert (The last SBD for the 1970 ´verts is still July 1 1970).

The 908405 VON tells us it was built for sale in the US. A car destined for Canada would have a VON that starts with B. Combining the VON with Y16 leads me to a wild *** guess the car was ordered internally and built for some promotional purpose such as a parade, a high visibility appearance such as a Chrysler sponsored golf tournament, a give away car of some sort or other designated marketing purpose.

@69monaco -- know more that you can share about DP27G9R194132 ? Canadian-built, and seemingly well preserved! @71Polara383

July 1, 1970 is still the last one of which I know for 1970 MY. For 1969, those are just my records -- I don't keep track of the 1969s like I do the 1970s, though.

--> Would love to get the tag of the car you're thinking of

I have a tag with SPD 707 for Jefferson, 1970 model year.
I will have to sort it out tonight.

So from what I know and have been told there were only 2 69 Monaco 500 Convertibles made with a 440. does that mean 1 was the K-Code R6 car and the other mine the L-Code B5 Blue car???
Lots of wrong or misleading info out there. What is the documentation supporting those production figures?

Hi Doug,

for you another neighbor:
PH27k9D316677 with VON 908409.
Also a Y16 sales bank car, pretty similar optioned.

Highest VIN I do have for the 69 modelyear. Four numbers later than the other one with matching VON

Nice! I've had my 69 since 1986, its also a "one of 440's" Pic of when it was first picked up in 86, and as it sits now :( In the stages of revitalizing her.

Hello,
While it has been confirmed more than once that there were 2 440 69 Monaco 500 Convertibles made with a 440 but nowhere does it say with what 440. Now with your R6 Red 440 Monaco 500 Convertible showing up but its a K code. could that be the 2nd 440 car and mean mine is the only L code??

SO what I have been told is that we both own the 2 69 Monaco 500 Convertibles. yours is a K-code and mine is an L-Code.
