I got a lead on another Imperial steering column and buying some other parts in South Carolina. Anybody have an idea of how to ship steering column (to Minnesota)? Seller hasn't shipped one before and a price has not been clarified. Would you think the shipping costs would likely exceed the cost of the actual item purchase price? Weight and odd shape an obstacle? Any feedback appreciated. I think the hassle on his end may kill the sale.

Thanks.

I shipped one and I think it was about $30 for UPS. I took the shifter and turn signal arm off to make the package smaller.

I forgot to mention the wheel comes with...everything included. not sure if I made that part clear meaning it might be a really odd shape for shipping...Did yours have the wheel too John?

Wollfen just shipped one to me in Jersey from North Carolina, cost $80. Included the wheel (attached) and cruise assembly.
Thanks. I kind of want to make it easy for seller not to pull wheel and keep track of horn rim pad, etc...Did they have to box it somehow for shipping and did you use FedEx, UPS, USMAIL?

It was UPS, and he used two boxes taped together. One enclosed the wheel, the other the column. Looked like an “L” shaped Tetris piece, LOL.

Thanks for the help. Sometimes a seller will pass if too much work to ship if a local will buy and pickup. We'll see. Had that happen.

I use fastenall all the time easy they just drop it at the local store and you pay for it at yours, usually around .75 a pound.
I'm gonna have to be honest...never heard of fastenall...where have I been? will do some research on that...thanks.
