Radiator Core Support

Hello all. I have a 1968 Sport Fury that was originally a 318 car but now has a 440 stroked to 496 by Hughes Engines. It stays cool with a 23" two row 1" each aluminum radiator. I plan to install vintage air but would like to have a 26" radiator. Does anyone know where I might find a 26" core support? Any help would be appreciated.

Probably would need to find any 68 Plymouth that had AC. I believe all AC 68's got the 26" radiator.

Any 67/ 68 AC C body 26 inch rad core support will fit.
26 inch rad cores started mid 66,
National Moparts, Murray Park, Wildcat, Desert Valley Auto Wreckers just to name a few.
There are a few AC cars being parted out on this forum- just have to lurch with a fine tooth comb, lol.

It can be swapped out without removing the fenders and bumper.
Been there, done that..

Changing core supports is not an easy job but can be done. Be careful with the fenders. I would see how the existing radiator does with a/c using a modern compressor. I trust that you already have a clutch fan.

As mentioned, get a matching shroud that fits the rad.
Also, grab the plastic lower air dam if you can find one.
It fits between the core support and bumper. It directs air into
the rad.

A good body shop would be able to open up the 22" opening for a 26" radiator without much trouble, and would be able to make it look factory. Probably cheaper than cutting and installing a new radiator core support. Had that done on my 67 Coronet when I switched from small block to big block.

C body cars in the mid 60's - 70s had a bolt in core support. Unlike the B bodies that were welded in. I think 66-69 Dodge Plymouth Chrysler were interchangeable but don't quote me. At least 66-67. As was previously mentioned, No 26" in 65 but they were interchangeable with the 22" supports.

Based on my 1967 parts catalogue, the 26 in rad core is the same for Plymouth, Dodge and Chrysler.
2785 931 and 2785 933 are the most common ones that interchange.
I used a 67 core in my 68, just for example.
