No, we know it's a 71 that someone gave a face lift to. Just an assumption but probably minor body damage was the cause..
We are simply talking about 70/71 differences

hee is a 1970 Gran Coupe with paisley interieur.
No woodgrain in the drivers area/gauges. Not sure of the rest of the dashpad

According to the earlier post the Y16 was a stock ordered car and the Y14 was a special order or customer ordered car??? The weather broke here today so I will have a bunch of additional pictures to post tomorrow. It has the green and gold interior. The seats look like the second picture of the 3 that were posted but two-tone light metallic green and gold. Thanks for all the help guys. Again 12k was a starting point I will consider any reasonable offers. But mechanically the car is 100%

Thanks for all the help guys!:sSig_thanks:

We heard and hashed thru this exact same storyline here a long time ago. I can't find it because the search function here is still attending kindergarten. Can anybody else find it?

For this same car?

I don't think so. My memory gets distorted over time but I know we went thru this once before with an owner. I searched to no avail to make sure and to refresh my memory.

Somebody had a car he was selling as a 71 and it was delivered with a 70 trim or nose or something. Klaus and Carsten are good for remembering this stuff.

Probably a Chrysler.... I don't recall the situation. My brain is apparently keeping company with the search function

I believe it started out as what color paint for correct for a 1972 400 engine and then it turned to something Dave had....a 1971 car with an orange painted 400 or something IIRC. Then the argument was that Ma Mopar started putting 400's in late 1971 cars IIRC.

Oh, you have a good memory but not exactly correct.... I once pulled a 1972 400HP from a 1969 Dodge Polara. It had been painted blue but was originally orange..

1971 was the first year for the 360 but found its way into some 1970 cars.... So two different stories there, nice to know you guys care and were listening

From what I understand Y16 was sales bank Y14 is special order car.

Y16 is a sales bank
Y14 is a "sold car" (no matter if a customer ordered it or the dealership wanted a specific car with a certain colour and options)
But it is not a "special order car". That is Y39. It means it has some oddities/differences from a regular production car

here is a tag of a 71 Fury with 440 u-code engine (E86)
It was a sold car (Y14) and special order (Y39)
The special order can also be identified by the "K" in the VON

attention: There was NOT always a second tag saying special order

for those who want to see the car, it is an old police car
