My buddy has decided to sell a 383 engine that he had totally rebuilt for his 67 Coronet.
It's a "D" code, (1968), block and matching 904 heads.
.040 over bore, std mains & rods, A comp flat tappet cam, all new pushrods, springs, steel seat inserts, Everything else new including an aluminum front cover, water pump and intake. Pretty much complete, ready to go.
I think it's a heck of a deal for $3500.00. PM me for more info if needed.

Will.

I'm not being a smart *** by saying I paid $4600 for a rust free running 70 Imperial. Yeah it has a lot of issues but it has a 440/727/8.75 and the windshield washer bottle is pristine. $3500 seems steep to me for a 383 rebuilt engine.

It is not unusual for well rebuilt engines to run in the 5-7K range. Start getting into after market high performance work 10K is nothing.

There's a big difference between a remanufactured engine and a used one. A rebuild kit will run upwards of $1800.00, $600.00 for machine work. Add a cam & lifters and some aftermarket parts. It adds up. And thats assuming you have a good core engine to build.
