Has anyone removed the grill inset to re-chromed the frame? Will I regret doing this? The issue is I will have to grind off the flattened studs and then reattach by another method, like jb weld.

The chrome isn't bad, but it is so promident in the sun with the top down, that it has always irritated me seeing the pits in the finish.

I too am interested. Mine has to be redone and hope someone can explain the whole process

Mike, I drilled out the rivets on mine and drilled and tapped for 6-32 screws and used washers and Loctite when I reassembled. Worked like a charm.

New chrome makes all the difference.
