I lost a good friend today.
When I started the Boab, Steve was the first one of the Dry Dock guys to reach out to me.
We just clicked.
Over the years I made countless trips driving 6 hours one way to Joisey.
Whether it was for a week,or long weekend, I stayed at his and Elaine's house where we worked on something together.
Not to mention the crazy road trips we did.
The past 5 years Steve's health was on the decline.
Yet his mind was still sound.
If anybody knows Steve, not being able to work on anything frustrated the hell out of him.
My last visit was October 2024.
I had to take him to Emergency one night.
He joked with the nurses!
IT was hard to see him in the state he was in.
Our last phone call it was obvious he was not good.
I wanted to make one ladt trip but could not go.
Just as well becuase I know it would break my heart to see my friend,my mentor not well.
So all I have are good memories, lots of pics, and a garage full of tools he wanted me to have to start up our new garage.
Steve is at peace now..but up in heaven he is probably re- engineering the operations of heaven's gates!!
See you on the other side Hobby.
