I'm a bit confused on what the VIN engine code should be for a 69 300.

according to the below, both the K and L looks to be a possibility. any thoughts? I know the tag code is E 86

The standard K code 350 horse engine will code E85
The optional L code TNT 375 horse engine will code E86

Fleet, or police application. K code would be 360 HP depending on engine options.

I'm not familiar with a '69 360 horse application. Do you have any info on that?

Sure!

There were 3 variants of the 440 offered in 69:

One was the 360 HP 440 Police Pursuit engine. 4BBL, Un-silenced free flowing air cleaner, and Dual Exhaust.
Pursuit Commando, rated at 360 HP.

I have the factory brochure that lists all 440 applications: specs, names etc.

I can post them later,....send me a PM and remind me. Gettin' old.
