Sorry, edits not working for me. Was that 50$ in '78? Because even in 2004, that was worth 400$ CAD.

If you're talking about my blue leather steering wheel....

I bought it for $50 in 2012. It came out of a 77 Daytona Charger that was smashed by a big *** tree in Pennsylvania. Crushed the right side A-pillar and demolished the whole right side of the car. There was no fixing it. Anyways, I had to put the steering wheel on a lathe and cut about a 1/2" of the acrylic hub on the back side of the steering wheel and it bolted right on T&T steering column.

I've been watching for a good, uncracked black three spoke wheel for the Admiral for two years now, with no luck except for one, highly over priced one, surfacing.
Not even a colored one I could paint.
A wanted ad placed here didn't even help. I'm tempted to use a wood grain wheel, love them.

Well I'm gonna throw a wrench into things this is what I have a 1967 recall steering wheel. Personally I think it looks great in the 69 sport fury convert
 
Since my last post I had Doug Lepak the Steering Wheel Guy restore my wheel with a few additional personal touches . I had him make it a 2 tone burled wood and black hand grip separated by the original stainless steel band . Then I had him do the console trim in a burled wood look to match the wheel. The wheel itself feels amazing when driving . The cost was $ 1,100 Canadian for everything.This included welding a cracked spoke and then re-chroming the spokes. IMO It was well worth the investment and I would highly recommend it to anyone considering it . When people look into the interior of my car at the show and shines the wheel get a lot of attention along with the matching console .

I've said it before, 800 is reasonable for NOS. 1100 is well worth restored
 
I see him doing at least one wheel for me. Wagon’s wheel cracked. Bummed me out completely.

$1,100 Canadian includes the console trim as well. He did a VERY good job on that , it goes with the interior well. His Rim blow wheels are exceptional!

I had the option of purchasing a NOS aero wheel for my 61 for about the same cost as the recast. I figured it would only be a matter of time before the NOS wheel started showing the problems my original had suffered. I opted for the recast mainly due to the upgraded materials used.
