Tire/rims

Anyone?

What are the widest tires and rim set up I can put on my 70 300?
Well, a couple of members/former members have managed to squeeze some 275/60 R15s into the rear wheel wells of their Fusies. Backspacing is important, IIRC, they used either 4.25" or 4.5". Those threads should still be here on the forum somewhere or one of those guys may chime in.

I'm personally running 225/70 series Radial T/As on seven inch rims with 3.75" backspacing, on the front of my '71 with no rubbing or clearance issues. Still room for a bit more tire. Hope this helps.

Aah I remember the good ol' days of 50 series on the back 60's on the front Cragar SS's or Tork Thrusts running glass packs listening to the Alpine deck with the Pioneer 100W Amp in the trunk...those were the days...but I digress

Looking at 15x8 rims with 4.5 back space 255/70 rear 235/70 front on my '70 300 ..then again I have to use up some of the rims I've collected so Road Wheels and 235's all around is more likely

275/60/15 's on the back of my 69 FuryIII . 15/8 wheels with 4 1/2 backspacing.
235/70/15's on the front. There is room for more but I didn't want to get greedy or make it look too much like a Mattel Hot Wheels car.

last question. Factory road rims for my HURST are 6" wide. I would like to stick with the Road Rims. Do they come 8" wide?

I don't know the answer to your question but up front on my car I am running 15/6 wheels. I would idealy like 7 inch but the front wheels came with the car. Thanks for the compliments on the look of my wheel combo. I am very happy with it.

I run a 275/60-15 on the rear of my 70 300. They are on a stock 7" road wheel.

The wheel is a little too narrow for the tire, and I'll probably downsize the tire to a 70 series when I replace it.

I would think some custom wheel shop could widen the road wheels for you.
