Trunk lock cylinder replacement

OK, Ive done a search however that wasnt successful. MY question is...
Ive removed the rear trunk lock (actually it kinda fell apart) and ordered a new cylinder and key set.
I am curious if there is a trick or method to ensure the retaining clip stays in place when you slide the cylinder in. The access doors are to small for my mitts....If this was covered in another post...my bad..but Im still a nooob:sSig_noob:

I would have never thought of something like those. I just used my mitts and maybe a screwdriver
 
Well thanks for the advice, Ill be picking up some of those pliers for sure....I convinced my wife there was a present hidden under the trunk lid...she managed to squeeze her mitts into the access openings and did the job for me...Work smart...not hard...
