This Automatic Transmission Console has the Vacuum Gauge and the Stick cars came with a RPM Gauge. I believe that was always the case or was it? That’s the first question.

The second question or observation is that this console has a plastic cover that is removable from the drivers side and it looks like it’s for converting that side for a manual floor stick shift. Is that the case?

third question is I think I’ve read that this console works for B-bodies too. Is that also true?

1. Most of these consoles actually had a dummy block-out ornament mounted. Then you could order either the VG or tach.
2. Yes, that is the kinda flat panel for auto trans, in your pictures. 4-speed had more bulging cover mounted here.
3. Yes. Same console used for B and C. Only different one was the "long" 65 Monaco design, with extension extending to the rear seat.

Here's a good view. I pulled this from a very rusty 65 Coronet, that was originally a 426W 4-speed car . . .

Those pictures, jollyjoker, show the 4-speed bulge clearly. Is the bulge available anywhere? I’m just wondering.
I’m assuming the B-body 4-speed top plate would fit. I have one and a B console too. I’ll have to compare the two. Not that I don’t believe it but I just like checking these differences out. It’s innovative for Chrysler to have the “transformer” console.
Now I wonder if other car manufacturers did the same thing. I guess it would make sense.
Oh, and the dummy ornament, I’ve seen that.

Yeah, from what I've seen, pretty much everything on these consoles are bolt-in interchange. Don't know that the 4-speed bulge is being repro anywhere (? maybe Joe Suchy), but it probably wouldn't be hard to fab something with a similar contour. Cut a milk jug in half . . . ?
