What did you do to your C-body today....

Was it an original AM/FM?
Mike, I sent my original AM radio down to Gary Tayman as well for the Aurora conversion. Now has AM /FM Bluetooth, USB, and hands free calling. It comes with 4 speaker outputs and a microphone . You can also upgrade to pre amps.
The push buttons still work to save stations in your presets and you use your regular tuning knob.

Got ambitious today a decided to do into the divers door window regulator.. as most formal owners that have tackled these have seen or experienced, the gear assembly took a ****.

The grease keep all the Teflon/ plastic pieces together.

Thanks to some VERY helpful threads and PM’s from various members I was able to pull the regulator and motor out as a unit in about an hour.. easier than I initially thought..

Thank you everyone..

I’ll give to Reg and tracks a good cleaning and reinstall once I’ve soured the drive gear kit. I know others have used 1/4 20 nuts as replacements for the gears but I’m gonna go with the OE / Dorman replacement. I’m sure they last longer than me..

Case anyone was curious! These little beggars are what hold the glass to the regulator. ^^^^

Well once I got my momentum going after the window regulator dismantling I was on a roll. I pulled the the Blower motor and replaced it with an NOS I got I got from Mopar Marty. Just cause.

Had to pull the power antenna and brace to get the blower out. The inner fender was off anyway so it was easy peezy.

So all went back together no problem.. since I had time to spare. I installed new under hood insulation. Need to get few more clips as the kit didn’t come with enough.. go figure.

So next on the hit list, among MANY.. is a rear brake job and new alternator. The alternator **** the bed today while my daughter and I were out for an open sunroof spin.. So!

Standby to standby. More to come.

Got around to replacing the gasket(s) that fell out when the nuts came off the bolts of my exhaust. Glad I paid to have that fixed.

I got the wrong gasket, had to slot the holes a bit to make it work. I found the two gaskets I already had after I installed the one pictured, as is standard policy.

Started it up today after a full day to cure, could hardly hear the car running. Nice change from an open manifold.

And the work continues. Weather has been great for working in the garage last 2 days.
Carpet down, console re-installed, seat belts and new buckets finally in the car. Can’t believe how comfortable these buckets are now with the soft vinyl over new foam cushions!

I decided to make the first hard-point the accelerator pedal. Wanted to make sure that cut-out in the heel pad was neat and square. Other than the cut-outs for console, seats and belt anchors the only real trimming required is a the kick panels. The SMS/ACC carpet was molded and cut perfectly for this car.
Now I gotta get the rear seat from the stitcher and interior is done.

Been a Bizzy Little Beaver during my last 2 days off.. wanting to get Ginger ready for Carlise, or as much as she’s can be. Put on a set of air shocks just cuz. I did purchase a set of new Leafs along with the works a few weeks back. Gonna put them on later this yr.

Anywho.. had to put the interior back together and give her a good bath..

Started by putting down the old sound deadening mats that I pulled last summer and cleaned, then the old carpet that was shampooed then the freshly redone leather seats. I have mostly all new materials to install, but until the car get metal work and paint I reused the OE stuff to get her back on the road.

Took some brake cleaner to the seat tracks and gave them new grease. Pic don’t do’em justice. They turned out and work real nice. Before after.

So! More Carlise prep for Ginger. Got new rear drums, painting with VHT primer and flat black.. also got new Bump stops for the control arms. AND and good power steering pump from Murray. The one in the car now wines ALLOT.. so instead of digging into a rebuild, just replace it for now and dig in later.. and Lastly! Got the new regulator gear kit too. LOTS do before Carlise..

KENNY!!! I blame you for all this aggravation!! If your 78 had a Sunroof, it’d be in my driveway now READY for Carlise.. but NOOOOOOO!!

Love you!! Mean it.. lol

Busted it out and actually drove it now that 2020 is half over and it stopped raining for a minute. Went for a shakedown run, rear end is louder than I remember!
I need to wrap my mind around what I want to get done this year. I need to make up my mind on wheels so I can get tires and get my other cars wheels off the back. Probably close out the year with a trans and rear end rebuild.

I announced that I probably wouldn’t make it to Carlisle this year due to other commitments getting pushed out into July. In hopes that I could change my mind last minute I started an inspection on my car. I found some coolant on my heater hose, so I started searching around. I found a couple of coolant seeps in my radiator. Nothing dripping on the floor yet, but not comfortable driving across country until it is fixed. I pulled the radiator out and will take it in for a recore. Not sure how long it will take.

What I might do while waiting on my radiator.
Some Real Gaskets Tennessee. I have some seeping I don’t like. Valve cover and transmission bolts. About 1 drip a week, but has an oily sheen.

Barely made it home today. Master cylinder failure. It worked enough to get home staying in 2nd gear but the pedal would sink to the floor.
