Here is the final installment of the base Chrysler. This is the "window sticker" for this car. Not many options. The fender tag is quite sparse. . The steering is manual. The brakes are manual too. Drums all around. But you did get the mighty 270 HP 383; with 2 BBL and single exhaust. The wipers are variable speed. Dual horns. This car was optioned with undercoating, which included all of the hood pad. And finally; there is no trunk light either.
That it s one of the coolest ...no the coolest Newport I've seen!! You're very lucky to be its custodian!!
www.hamtramck-historical.com for sales/order guide information. Neat car. Thanks for the pictures, CBODY67
I laugh at the sticker option: seat cushions, foam front and back. What do you get if you didn't pay $23.65, a wooden bench seat.
From researching the "Library" at www.hamtramck-historical.com, it appears that the additional foam is a mandatory option on the vinyl interior. Which replaces "cotton padding" on the rear seat? Couldn't find the footnote numbers for further explanation. That particular option is standard on non-Newports, so it puts the Newport on the same level as the other Chryslers, in that particular area. CBODY67
Thanks for all the comments! I really enjoy this car and drive it as much as possible. Driving it requires all my arms, legs, and eyes. It is a dream ride on the highway.
