This is plate above the instrument cluster that provides general lighting down on the gauges. This particular piece is from a 69 VIP and has a little blue spot light that looks to just shine on the Plymouth insignia on the left of the dash , or the ac vent. Can anyone confirm the purpose of this spot light? thnx

Possibly aimed at the '69-only lh side of the dash (as in "old Ford" location) ignition switch area?

Shines light down towards headlight switch.
An option thst is part of the light group package.
Wired up to the time delay long enough to put rhe keys in and turn on headlights lol.
1970 E bodies with Ralley dash and light group also had this feature.
Later on in M bodies the headlight switch symbol lights up same as the key light.
