Looks like a section cut from the oil pump body.

You are close. It is for the oil pump. HINT: It’s part of a kit.

Remote oil filter adapter assembly plate?
I think it's part of a kit to install longer pump rotors.

Give that man a cigar! It is part of a long rotor kit. I’ll post a picture of the oil pump and picture of the kit listing.
