Why do people have to drive like idiots on Friday?

Oh man! Glad you're ok! Jesus, why don't people properly secure loads?!? Ratchet straps aren't that expensive... certainly not as expensive as hitting someone from behind and decapatating them.

You are totally correct. That is one reason I am planning on going to court and show the judge the pictures.

It's messed up. I see it all the time. I drove truck for a while, nothing big or long haul just within New England or New York. Driving sign supplies, I'd run down to NYC with extruded aluminum framing coming out the front of the box. The trucks were loaded by warehouse staff the night before and it only took one time of that stuff sliding out of the supports even by a foot for me to NEVER TRUST that it was done right by the warehouse guys. Dangerous stuff, man.

I soiled my BVD's just looking at it.

I bet they did what most people do, they tied them so they wouldn't come off the back. Most of those guys always think of taking off, never a sudden stop.

Stan, I soiled my BVD'S watching it happen.
Man, I am so sorry this happened to you. I know you are likely to be in pain for sometime, I hope you get feeling better faster though.

That accident could have been way worse for the Jeep driver. They got very lucky. The 3500 driver especially, prison for manslaughter would be worse than anything they do to him now.

Explain to me how those pieces were tied down on that rack. I really hope the judge stick's it in their a$$ so it hurts and they remember to tie it down correctly next time.
Although everything happened so fast, I did not see any tie downs on the truck. I could not see if they were in the road, but none on the truck.

Glad you are OK. The guy in the Jeep should be counting his blessings. Don't sign anything & don't let the insurance company record your conversation. Sad to say in today's society you need a lawyer.

ON FRIDAY !!!!! HELL THEY DRIVE LIKE THAT EVERYDAY ...

Well in Massachusetts anyways ..........

Sorry for your misfortune hope you heal up quickly

My observations on driving after averaging 40K+ miles a year for work is this..... Cars have become too safe. With multiple air bags and crumple zones, you have a very good chance of walking away from a major accident. This has lead to this feeling of being in your own little cocoon where nothing can hurt you and you no longer need to worry about yourself. .... The other guy? Screw him. He doesn't matter in your quest to get to the mall.

I am of the opinion that if you screw up once, they should take your safe car away from you and give you a car with a spike bolted right to the center of the steering wheel. You'll drive safe now, right?

I'm glad you are OK.

I've driven all over the world and it seems to me that the worst drivers that I encountered are right here in Maryland!

That's a good one! I have said for a long time I you cause a accident with towing or injuries your car should be marked lights, stripes, whatever, for the 3-5 years it takes to work it off your record
