Your first car

I see you did the 62 tail light swap on your 61 as well.
That's because the original one on the right fender was crushed in an accident. Never liked those small lights anyway. The deck lid was from a '63, front fenders from a '67. Front signal lights were '65 style. My Dad wired them to come on with the headlights like modern cars did. Looked cool! We pulled the dual sockets for those signal lights out of a '73 and had to cut them to fit the smaller '65 units.
 
Actually, and now thinking about them, the tail lights were from a '68. They have the back-up lenses in them, but I never hooked them up in any way. Thought about wiring them up to a switch on the dash, but it never happened.
 
LOL, going through my photos I ran across two photos of my first car accident in February 1970 just two months after getting my license. Not of the actual cars as I was so hopping mad I was pounding on the windshield of the other car. Shots of the location and the 55 year old woman driver talking to the Highway Patrol after I cooled off.
