Character and now thanks to Grandpa a new steel roof.

Your not the first to say we make a good couple, I think you and the others are right, I'm hanging onto this one..........She likes my Plymouth, She's into cars, her dad's a licensed mechanic, and he likes me, even though I entirely managed to forcefully insert my foot in my mouth in the first two seconds I was talking to him for the first time ever.

Anyway any young woman who doesn't mind me running off to watch Hemi's race, or to go to some far off Mopar event sounds like a keeper, one who is willing to come with me (look for us at Moparfest) is my kinda girl.

Dual snorkel in one hand, great gal in the other,
Oh my, I think I'm gonna cry....
Life is good!

Stan, my life is great :D I started out having the worst year of my life and now I'm having the best year of my life.

I couldn't ask for anything more.

Nick

Anyway, last weekend I headed down for WOMO's Ontario Mopar Day '14, and I managed to get some parts. Got a battery tray that will work, got a road wheel center cap dome to replace the one I'm missing from my set of '75-'78 centers............and I got another dual snorkel........I couldn't pass up the price $30.......with a new filter......also got some reading material for the washroom.....its already helping me spend money...............so many nuts and bolts to nickel and dime me.......

Anyway, this weekend I'm going to see whats going on with my motor, so out is comes, apart is comes and we'll see if we can get it together once and for all and ready to run.

About 1 in a million are that blessed.

Stan, have you seen my Girl or my truck, or even my car, I am blessed ;) My girls dad likes me and is a licensed Mechanic. I have some kinda luck, and to add to it.........

Monday night I'm on the phone with my buddy and told him to keep an eye for a taller ratio for my 8 3/4...........he says I have a 3.23 Sure-grip in my dart I'll sell you...........needless to say I told him yes.

Today I'm at work, its slow so I'm surfing the Facebook, A guy posts about his '69 Plymouth Suburban, I notice he's from the next town over, I message him, next weekend I go to pick up my disc brake spindles, backing plates, anchors........etc.....................

It's been a good few days.......movie lastnight with my girl.

Life is good boys!

Nick

I decided that changing the cam in the car would be a good idea, I had a friend help me choose an appropriate profile and duration.

I then realized I don't have any contacts in the area my car is, and I've never done a cam in a cam-in-block pushrod V8..................that slowed me down very fast...............so I took a chance.........

I asked my girls dad if he had ever done one, before I could finish my sentence he asked "273, 318 or 360?" when I answer 318, he said he had infact done many, and he said get the parts and I'll teach you..........then he asked me if I wanted to borrow his engine stand.

:D

"I like Dodge's"

Remember when you were on the verge of hanging it all up?
And then you refused to...........

I'm glad I didn't, my would-be father-inlaw is partially disabled, but loves cars, he wants to help me, and I want him to help me, he can tell me how and I can do it. It's a way for him to do what he loves, and its a way for us to grow closer, I really like him and respect him, I really love his daughter too, the age difference isn't even really there. They hated her ex, she was alone for 5 years, then we met one night, both our lives got a bit better, It's a good thing I didn't miss the car club meeting that night like I intended, I might have missed out on the one thing that put my life back on track.

I realized that the other night. If it wasn't for my girl, I would of sold the Fury, I might have quit my job, and I don't think I would be as happy as I am, I know for a fact I would be lonely as hell if it wasn't for her.

Her family likes me, my family likes her, more importantly, we like each other. Her parents trust me and they've only know me for a few weeks. I spent two days of my 4 days off work with them, and two days with my car. I headed over Saturday, there only about 45 minutes from my garage, we had lunch, we went out tubing, swam in the river, had dinner, went for icecream, went back out and watched the fireworks from the lake, we came back and I was asked if I wanted to spend the night.................it took her ex 4 years of dating to get that invitation, as of the 7th we will have been officially if you will together for 3 months. I met her a little over 5 weeks before that. So I stayed, I spent Sunday hanging out and doing the same as Saturday, her mom is quite the cook, she says she's going to fatten me up :D I said I wouldn't try and fight it. Everyone packed up and was ready to leave, they had to work today, her mom, her and her sister, her dad wasn't coming home till tonight. Her dad and I were watching a movie, and he asked me if I wanted to stay with him and finish the movie. Naturally I said of course, we saw them off, finished watching the movie, and started talking cars, women (specifically his daughter) and life. He asked me if I wanted to spend the night again. I did. We watched a few more movies, talked more, laughed and I can honestly say that I think we're on the same page.

He's okay with me taking his daughter to my friends wedding in two weeks, he's okay with knowing that she will be alone with me far away for a few days.

He told me all about the cars he owned, the cars he worked on, the 225's, 273's, 318's, 340's, 360's, 400 and 440's.

He had a '76 Gran Fury police package, with a 440, he broke the speedometer in it twice topping out past the 140 MPH.

Anyway, I had a good weekend.

I still have tomorrow off. and I already manged to get a lot done, the 318 and 727 are out and the 318 is on the stand and mostly tore down.

I'll post some pictures later.

Nick

Life is indeed good!

I care about his daughter, More then myself and, My toys. Incase of emergency I'm the second person notified and she is the ifrst person notified about me. I'm not planning on going anywhere anytime soon, and she wouldn't want me too...........

At the moment neither of us are ready, but a time will come.....

Besides..........behind ever good man is a woman who cares about him and puts up with his stupidity while still loving him.

Nick

Please remove those engine mounts before you repaint this, look much better black.

Old coolant bottle work well for holding bolts, hold up much better when sandblasting and you don't have to fumble with the bolts with those gloves. Leave them poked into the bottle and they are ready for paint.

Alan
Ordered new mounts..........

I just popped them in there so I knew where they were and that they would stay together for now.
