Rarity doesn't equal value, it just doesn't. You can say Chevy this and Ford that but it is what it is, a Mopar C body with a small following and impossible to locate parts for.

You see my numbers for a number two car, yet when you are done restoring your car you will have $25,000 into it.

I love people who go to the experts for a wiw and tell them they full of crap....
It's exactly like owning a Salvador Dali. His stuff ranges from a couple of hundred bucks to over six figures. So the guy with a $200 lithograph gets told by the appraisers st Skinner it's worth 200 bucks and he argues with them.

Amen - i would love to strip all the parts off the green 70 fury in the el paso texas yard that fit the 70-71 two door - but i would be stuck sitting on them for years - decades perhaps and i don't have enough savings now to justify purchasing them.

Dave, thanks again for ALL the parts I got from you off that red NY'er!!! I have the bumpers on my NY'er already.

The numbers 440 and hemi trans is still in the car.It just needs a carb and battery on it to run.The fender tag can be put on with 2 screws I removed. It was only taken off so I could clean it up a little and get some pics of it.It's actually the earliest known GT to exist besides the pilot car.I had the guys at sportfurygt check it out and talked to the guy with the pilot car about the production date. When I do part it,I will keep motor/trans for another project.Pin holes in the truck and a fist sized hole on the driver side floor under the brake pedal and re-doing the interior will be the biggest project on the car. That's why a running parts car was going with it.It is solid and complete.Actually,I'll probably just pull the drive train let the rest of it rust to the ground.

So your not a car guy, just a guy with an ax to grind. Let me ask you, how did you come to own the car?

It's been in the family since the mid 70's when my father saved it from the crusher in Burleson,Tx.He saved it and parked it because even back then he knew it was a special car.My father's health is going down hill and I have been taking care of him and my mother. He gave me the car as thanks.I'm a directional driller in the oilfields of west texas,so I've worked my *** off to get where I'm at.What's it matter anyway? As for being a car guy,I just bought my dad a 66 Charger with a 440 auto,p/s,p/b,a/c to thank him for getting me into the hobby.I own a 64 300 383 pushbutton auto,67 Charger 383 column shift auto,p/s,p/b,p/w,a/c,cruise,and factory headrests,68 Sport Fury 383 auto 2 dr hdt,68 Bee with 440-6,70 Challenger with 440-6,70 Sport Fury GT,71 Demon 500 cube 400 stroker,72 Duster full fledge drag car,73 Scamp with W-2 416,74 Duster factory 360 4 spd p/s,p/b sunroof fold down rear seat.Working on buying a 70 Barracuda Gran Coupe original Plum Crazy car.Just not sure if I want it because I want to build another 6 pack car and it may be too rare to do so.Also waiting on a guy to finish paint and body work on an original B5 69 Charger R/T 440.And I'm doing it all before the age of 29.I'm branded with tattoos.I have ink of an emblem of every car that I own.I'm a B & E body guy.Not a C body guy. What makes you a car guy?I believe I meet the qualifications.

Hi,

my advice would be: Put it on ebay.com. With engine and transmission. It makes the chance bigger to find a buyer who will take care of the car and hopefully save it. Gives you the biggest chance to sell it.

Just try it. What can you loose? 40$ for ebay.

I hope the GT finds a home which will save it. That is the most important point for me.

I just asked for advice on the car and was curious why it isn't worth as much as a 4 door Impala being as rare as it is.I don't have kids and will not have kids, and have no family to leave these cars to.They are my retirement instead.Enjoy them now, sell them later to get by.If it is not worth anything then I will not invest my money into it.It's not even worth parting out to me anymore. It's not eating anything and I don't need the money.

Me too fc7.I just want to find a good home for it because I have a few projects ahead of it.I will not give it away.I'd rather see it crushed before that happens. Thanks for the advice.

This ought to be interesting...

A true number 1 1970 GT 440-4 (doubt it exists) could brig fifty grand

A number 2 car ten grand

A number 3 car $6,000

A number 4 car 3,500

A number five .....1000

only my opinion for now and is subject to change within a moments notice

Hi Dave,

I am looking for a SFGT, too. I want a B5 or B7 car. I am searching since years. Had a FY4 gold car with V1G inbetween (2006-2010).

A number 2 SFGT for 10k$?

I would pay 20k$ immidiatly for a condition 2 SFGT in blue. No joke and I have enough cash. So if you (or anyone else) knows of a blue SFGT for in condition 2: Let me know.

If you can buy it for 10K: Become rich and be a happy flipper, earn 10k$ in selling it to me

I'll keep my eye open for you.I know my GT is green, and if there were more of the cars built I would paint it any other color any change the interior to black.

Not sure if it's a safe bet to invest in musclecars for retirement in a couple of decades, the way the markets went up and down over the years. Literally setting a car on fire rather than sell it after it wasn't even setting one back moneywise makes no sense to me. I spent lots of money on a car that's worth about nothing just because my father bought it new.
Still all the best to your family.

Thanks cm.I believe it is more just talk than anything.I will let it sit right where it is at though. It's not costing me a dime right now.I don't think I could even part it out now because of other people who want something for nothing benefitting from it.I'll help those who really need it though.

I am really hoping that when it does come time for me to retire,I can sell these cars and live off of that.I don't trust banks, our government or 401k plans.I stash my cash and invest the rest into cars.Having them be my future,I just can't take a loss that big.

A car guy wouldnt crush the car out of spite because its not worth what he thinks it should be.
A car guy wouldnt buy cars now planning to sell them in the future as a retirement fund.
To you its not a passion or love for the car, its about you and thats it.
Since your dad bought the car 35 years ago you have nothing into it so letting it go for a thousand bucks should be good enough, especially since your a car guy..... Right?

Being the 2nd to lowest of anything means nothing, first and last are the only ones that matter.

Ink doesnt make you a car guy, your assumption that it does makes you less of one.

LOL.Ok.So also growing up in my dad's mechanic and exhaust shop and turning a wrench since I was big enough to hold one doesn't count either?I love these cars, but once I get ready to retire then what?I have no kids.I have no family other than my parents. What do I do with the cars then?Let them rot away?Nope.I'll enjoy them now and then sell them to let someone else enjoy them later since I can't pass them down to anyone.Sounds like a solid plan to me.

I don't even know why I'm wasting my time talking to you.I'm done with this site.

So sell the car cheap, let it be saved by someone who cares and be grateful its gone
