How much cu.inches with 0.03 overbore?

My ’69 440 is being rebuilt. Due to slight corrosion on top of the cylinders it was deemed necessary to bore it over. We ended up to 0.03”, and a set of KB Hypereutic flat top pistons, some decking, etc, basic rebuild stuff. - Now, as I’m extremely uncomfortable with those dimensions, I find it impossible to calculate the resulting volume. Can you help me: how much volume the 440 will have as a result? Closer to 450 or so?

Volume of a cylinder = Pi x R Squared x H . . .
 
it's 446 cid now. No need to worry about that. It's a normal service to refinish to that size.

PS - are you sure those are hyper pistons? They don't look like what I remember. The top ring gap will be important to "get right" for the piston used.
 
'69 440 V8
4.32 (bore) x 3.75 (stroke)
1 cylinder volume : (4.32 / 2)^2 x pi x 3.75 = 54,96 cid
8 cylinders volume : 54,96 x 8 = 439,7 cid

0.03 overbore
4.35 (bore) x 3.75 (stroke)
1 cylinder volume : (4.35 / 2)^2 x pi x 3.75 = 55,73 cid
8 cylinders volume : 54,96 x 8 = 445,9 cid
 
Thanks for the replys! I know math, but am unfamiliar with the inches subdivided by something recalling metric system rather than being 1/16th, 1/32nd, etc part of an inch.
I suppose 0.03 is 3/100 inches, but was not sure, and could not find anything on the web about it either. I suppose its obvious to some, and the rest could not care less. - Anyway, I found it curious to combine the metric and the other system anyway, which only added up to my confusion.

Edit - No metric on these cars, and little fractional. It's (.000) thousandths or (.0000) ten-thousandths depending on what specs you're look at.

piston ring thickness... those are still fractional...lol.

Thanks, but no thanks, I'd rather not get into that discussion. Hypereutectic will suffice for my purposes. I'm not looking for a street&strip wonder. Instead, I'll be perfectly happy if my engine builder manages to find even close to all of the quoted 350 ponies... many of which were missing in the first place... LOL.

The machinist who rebuilt my 440 also used hypereutectic pistons. They are a more than adequate replacement for stock cast pistons.

What kind of cam are you running in the new motor?

Edelbrock Performer series cam, intake & carb combo. ’70 HP exhausts and TTI duals. Stock 906 heads with a valve job, new valves, brass liners and new HP springs. Period correct dual snorkel air cleaner and new 440source 6 quart pan.
