One of my B-body projects

I had them paint the top of the inside of the plenum so that all you see is body color through the vents. Is this LL1 turquoise?, no but it is close. For this car I wanted more depth out of it along with more metallic. The painter started with the samples spray outs and this is what I chose. It looks different with and without the flash of the camera and of course it will probably look even more different out in the sunlight. (I did take the sample out into the sunlight along with a chunk of the original car whose paint had been protected since new)

Matt....finally. I've been asking for pictures for years! LOL!

Great job!!!

I wish I could say for sure but I'm thinking that it's still another year out even if it made it back to my shop tomorrow with fresh paint. Don't forget that I have my vert torn apart at the moment too and that one takes priority.

Where do you find the time?
I ran out of time for this project 3 years ago. I got the majority of the metal work done and then left it in my buddies hands to finish prepping it for paint and paint it. The last 3 years I turned my attention towards the Imperial and the Challenger.

Well with a little help I located and made contact with the previous owner and he was happy to hear from me. He had and raced the car for a good many years all over the southeast and was even track champ in Jacksonville in '85. He says he wished he'd never sold the car and is excited to see what I'm doing to it. Best part is he has started sending me vintage pics. Here it is in about '85 and with its first paint scheme as the "Junkyard Dog".

I heard that maybe it was going to be painted this year so I figured I should try to get some stuff done so that I could put some wheels on it.:)
