Hello Guys, thanks for all your help so far.
Can anyone help with decoding this Fender Tag? I have gotten some of it worked out but I cannot figure out the rest. Below is what is completed and what I am unsure of (in bold), as well as a picture of the tag and the car for reference:
Row 1:
E85=440-4 Barrel
D34=TorqueFlite Automatic Transmission

CS43=Chrysler Special 4 Door Hardtop
T7C T = 440-4 Engine, 1977, Jefferson Avenue, MI Plant
139015

Row 2:
PT7 Paint Code=Burnt Chesnut??
PLL3=Premium Leather 50/50 Split Bench Seat, Parchment Leather Color
C20=12 / 20 / 1976 Build Date
063885=Order Number

Row 3:
V1L=Full Vinyl Top - Champagne
H51=Single Air /w Heater
L81=Door Ajar Indicator Lamp
L28=Unknown

Row 4:
M45=Fender Skirts
G37=Left Hand Remote, Right Hand Manual Chrome Mirrors
P41=Power Door Locks
N88=Auto Speed Control
G63=Unknown, Something with glass?

Row 5:
K5X=Unknown
N71=Unknown
P51=Unknown

Row 6:
N94=Fresh Air Hood Fiberglass, What does this mean? The hood appears to be metal.

Thanks,

G63 = Right outside mirror
N94 = ESA w/catalyst
K5X = Type 5 Stripe (X is the color)
P31 =Power Windows
P51 = Power park Brake Release
PT7 = Coffee Sunfire Metallic (Has it been repainted?)

If you have your build sheet, the codes are usually on the back side of the sheet.

Awesome, thank you, Mr. Dave, what does ESA mean? As far as I know, it has not been repainted, the engine bay is the same color as the exterior, and I think coffee sunfire metallic describes it pretty accurately, however, I am not sure. Everything else sounds right, however, is the power brake release the small silver petal behind the parking brake? That pedal does release the parking brake however I did not know that it had a power component to it.
Thanks again,

ESA is short for electronic spark advance. Above the little handle that releases the park brake there is a small vacuum motor that is activated when the car is placed in gear. If yours is not working, it may be disconnected. The vacuum motors sometimes leaked and folks disconnected and plugged the vacuum line. Look in the top half of the rear seat as that is usually where you will find the build sheet.

Row 3:
V1L=Full Vinyl Top - Champagne

L81=Door Ajar Indicator Lamp
L28=Unknown This is L31 Fender mounted turn signals

Row 5:
K5X=Unknown
N71=Unknown Not seeing this code
P51=Unknown

N71=Unknown

Should read: "K7L", another stripe code, see the 1977 Chryco Sales Codes List. "L" is beige aka Parchment.

K5X is for the side moulding with black insert. If 1977 Chryslers have the K5- code, it is always X "Black". K7- would be the upper body pin stripe, that varies in colour from one car to the next.

C20=12 / 20 / 1976 Build Date

Actually that is the Scheduled Production Number. For the build month, day and hour take a look at the door sticker, where it says "MDH". (And post a picture of it, while you're at it.)

Sorry this took so long, I was away from the car so I couldn't get a picture, but here it is. Does this mean that the car was built on December 21, 1976, at 7:00 a.m.? Also, what is the scheduled production number?

Yes, that's what it means. "07" would mean between 7 and 8 AM. The doorsticker is actually a statement of compliance, confirming that at the time the car was assembled it complied with all relevant regulations. Also handy for recalls.

The Scheduled Production Date (not Number, that was my mistake) was an estimate when the car would be built and was used early in the ordering and pre-assembly phase. In your case they were only one day off. Mostly the gap is wider.

C20 is the BODY FRAME DATE. It is not the build date of the car. The closest you will get to the build date of the car is the MDH label (Month/Day/Hour) on the end of the driver's door. In the case of your car it looks like it made its way through Jefferson without any delays.

I have long been unclear as to the last two digits of an MDH. In this case, does "07" represent the 7:00am-8:00am time slot? Or is it the seventh hour of production on that particular day? IF it happens to be the seventh hour of production, that puts this car coming off the line in mid afternoon, possibly between 3:00 and 4:00pm

Does anyone have an MDH where the last two digits are greater than 16? I believe in this time period Jefferson worked two shifts, representing 16 or possibly 18 hours of production, a day shift and an afternoon shift.

Body frame date is the day that the construction of the body is scheduled in the assembly plant's body shop. Once the car body is finished, it goes to paint and then can either continue on to the rest of the assembly plant or it can go into a body bank to be used at a later time? Why would this happen? Bunch of reasons. 1. All of the options for this particular car weren't in the plant so it was pointless to let it go any farther. 2. The paint shop liked the economies of scale that resulted in batch painting as many bodies as possible in one colour. If they could run 20 cars all the same colour, before changing the guns out, they'd do that. 3. Build intensity. If a particular car was highly loaded and required extra manpower on the assembly line, the scheduling people like to try and insert a car with fewer options between these high manpower cars to give the guys on the line a bit of a break.

Jefferson had the ability to store several hundred cars in their body bank for just these reasons.

We went through this before. Those are actual am and pm time points, not accumulated working hours. I think the proof was that there are no MDHs that have lower values than 06 or 07 in the last two positions.
