Still having issues with the brakes though...
Would the lines, too close to the exhaust manifold, getting hot- cause an issue? They work great for a while...then you gotta use both feet to stop...

Brakes adjusted tight? Also, were the shoes "glazed" over? Can't remember if you did new shoes/drums. If I do new shoes, I usually break the glaze on the drum with sandpaperStill having issues with the brakes though...

Damn.. .I'd say the kid got a good car from what I see!The buyer of the car will be signing up here soon. Cool kid excited to build his first classic. He reads this thread, and will likely start a new one here for this car.
My father in law gave me first shot at his 20 year restoration with an offer I couldn't turn down, can't keep both- so sold the new yorker. I thought the brakes were good, but on his way home, he said he had a hard time stopping again...feel bad for the kid...
