Good morning,

wondering my car just don´t like to blink. All lights and switches work. The blinker lighten up but no on off flashing they are just brighter till I switch off the blinker . Testet the relais already and it does click and the blink thing when tested just with 12v.

Before I will look for the needle in a haystack I wanted to ask if somebody of you experts can just point on the problem with no effort.

Thanks,

Fabian

Have you replaced the flasher or switched it with the flasher for the hazard lights to see if you have a bad flasher?

Du you mean with flasher the switch I can operate with my left foot to activate high beam ? That thing works great . I didn’t replace any part because all the light stuff works/worked so far . Just no blinking

Any bulbs which are not operating (i.e., burnt out)?

Check the obvious first.

It should not. Under your dash somewhere in the wiring harness there are two flashers that will be round & a little bigger than a soda bottle plastic cap. Some are metal, some are plastic and some are square. If your hazard lights work switch the two of them and if your blinkers now work then you need to replace a flasher.

Okay I see . Both of these cYlindric things are called flasher . One for high beam one for blinker . That’s what I didn’t know .gonna try that right tomorrow and let you guys know .
Thanks for that

Wait now I got you !

if all 4 hazards work I don’t know just when I want to blink left the left side blinkers turn on but don’t Flash , so does the right side . Didn’t check if all 4 corners work at the same time .

Check and switch flashers anyways ? Feel like now where it’s clearly explained it might something different causing the issue ?!

Yes gonna do that right tomorrow. If it doesnt work will it mean both flashers are junk?

No, I think the language barrier is the problem.

The thing on the floor that controls the high and low beams is not a flasher. That's the dimmer switch.

The turn signal flasher is under the dash and looks like this:

There's another flasher for the hazard or 4-way flashers that looks the same. So there will be 2 of those under the dash. They operate independently of each other. When you find both of them, switch them and see if your problem with the turn signal (blinker) goes away and your hazard lights stop flashing.

Thank John, once more you nailed it 100%! Tomorrow I’ll let you know how it worked out . Dash is out so no problem to find both flashers very quick .

There are two types of hazard flasher relays, one uses a bi-metallic mechanism [the metal can type] , the other is an electronic type [plastic body]. Typically there are two, one for the hazard (4-way) lights and one for the turn signals. Replace both at this time. The "heavy duty" is a good upgrade, it come in handy if you are ever going to pull a trailer. Here are some examples in the rock auto catalog. When I replaced mine in my 1978 Chrysler, I used the heavy duty electronic type.

Let us know how it goes.

One quick question here - since we now find out the dash is removed, have you absolutely verified the dash housings grounds?

The Ground spot on steering column is grounded through chassis and the flasher as part of the blinker and light circle I thought grounded through the ground of the lights and the Ground on the fenders ?! No?

Correct

Damnit just figured I can’t switch the flasher and check them because they are different . One two and one is three port and they don’t fit the other way round
