Check resistor block for short.

a lot of the afore mentioned advice is good but not totally necessary. pull off your compressor and drain the old mineral oil out of it. measure the amount drained and add poly oil and a little extra. change the o rings to green ones. txv should be fine unless it is already toast. change the filter drier and pressure test system. pull a good vacuum and recharge system. of course you would have to have the equipment and know how to do this. or you could talk to all of your buds and find a good refrigeration mechanic to do this. would take him about 3 hours and a couple of beers. that would be the way to go in my opinion. I have only been doing refrigeration for 40 years.

Hi livingharrow.. Similar issue, yet not with my 75NYB. New compressor and expansion valve / meter block, I think that's what that is close the firewall, installed, blows ice cold for about a day then warm air. I'm sure I have leak somewhere. My question is.. I'd like to just go through the whole system and replace what Really needs to be.. What parts would you recommend I replace? Dryer. Hoses. Condensor. O rings. Thing like that? I know these parts can be expensive, I just want do the right thing. Thanks for your time..

are you constantly adding refrigerant to it cause you say it blows cold for a day?

I have no idea what might be different that the 69-73 but there are a bunch of screws all accessible from within the wheel well.

So first jack up, place jack stand, remove wheel. On the inside you'll need to remove all the screws holding water valves, vacuum reservoirs etc.

This is something that you just need to dive in and figure it out.

I'm going to check this weekend If I can figure out how the inner fender should be removed. I was looking on Rockauto for blowers motors to replace mine for a new unit just to discard any problem, but... there are not blower motors available for '74 Fury with factory A/C

Can I use other blower motor?

The top one 35474. Get a wheel if you can, if its stuck you will bend it trying to get it off and it will vibrate.
