Agree, Nick's garage recently did a test and the Headers and HP manifolds were virtually identical- both much better than stock. Not sure what you're after. I can't claim to be an expert but, everything I've read, the difference between the HP manifolds and even the best headers is negligible. Unless your serious racing and need that and that and the weight reduction. I'd stick with the HP.

Maybe save your money for something which will make a difference?
Best wishes with your wagon whatever you decide.
Thanks Kevin, that's the one I was thinking of.Not sure what video you saw but the one I saw showed 30+ horsepower difference between HP manifolds and headers.
The one that was close was between Maxwedge manifolds and headers. Not quite the same thing. Reproduction Maxwedge manifolds are $1200. I have yet to find someone that can tell me they will fit a Cbody.

Seems like I recall reading, back then, that the MaxWedge manifolds would not clear the power brake booster. But that was on the '62 cars, I believe? Not sure what video you saw but the one I saw showed 30+ horsepower difference between HP manifolds and headers.

I've given up this futile battle, Mr C.What headers have I put on my wagon? That's an easy one...none!
I don't have any burnt plug wires, or leaks either!
There is another segment on Nick's Guarge, I believe it was a 440, headers verse stock HP Exaust manifolds and I believe it was 20HP difference and 11 on the torque. I might be a little bit off on the numbers but it was close enough that I decided to run my HP manifolds and 2 1/2 pipes with a crossover pipe. Thanks Kevin, that's the one I was thinking of.
