1972 Polara 4 door sedan

Rear valance repair. It was dinged and dented but nothing a little careful hammering won’t fix.

While the valance spends some time in the rare sunshine, my fat *** will be rolling around in the floor under the car cleaning and applying rust proof paint. Some of the dents you see are reflections while others are in fact dents/waves. It was pretty bad. I think they backed over a few zombies with it.

A view from below. Plus a shot of the worst area on the car. I’m not looking forward to repairing it. Rust o’plenty and it looks like an old recap tire might have shed its tread many years ago.

Paint and bodywork is looking good so far. When I 1st saw the damage to your quarter I also thought it looked like a tire let go.
Got a package from Wisconsin? They look good mounted up, here's a pic of the vehicle I believe they are from. I'm actually heading up to WI to help Manny with his own wagon on Thursday.

The plastic front valance is in much worse shape. I’m trying to glue it together. I’m less than enthusiastic about it. Some parts are missing.

Thanks for posting all the work your doing, my car has been apart for so long I forgot what it looks like.

I’m glad you’re enjoying my progress.
Soon I’ll be posting some more exitng stuff like engine and transmission installation.

Got the 727 back from the shop complete with a new factory style high stall converter. Also got the front valance glued back together and reinstalled. It looks like Frankenstein’s monster but it surprisingly sturdy after it’s all bolted up.

Can you get a shot of the radiator support? I'd like to see where the decals are placed.

Best shot I have right now. I’ll try to get a better pic tomorrow. With measurements.
From what I’ve seen, it varies from car to car slightly.

Transmission pan cleanup and paint.
I always use an old beat up pan during installation then, put a good straight, painted one on after everything else is buttoned up.
I’ve noticed these pans are pretty prone to rust and usually have a dent or two in them. I clean and paint the daylights out of them when I find a good one.
