This driveline was in the rusted WI SP cruiser that we are parting out. Engine had original lean burn on it and started, went to fast idle etc. Cooling system held 15 lbs test for over an hour. Trans shifted through all gears fine. All fluids look great. It does have an intake valve pop thru carb at WOT so something is stuck or burnt. It did run better with a half quart of tranny fluid thru the carb. Great candidate for fresh up as 96k showing on odometer. Will need an oil pan as this one is beat up. We put a new 8 quart pan/pickup and ran on engine stand all day. 75 psi Oil pressure, 150 psi compression check, valve springs check to spec and no blowby or exhaust smoke. It has a flat cam lob as poping thru carb when cylinder pressure comes up. About $600 in parts from 440 Source ie cam, lifters, freeze plugs and chain will fix it right. Real HP motor & tranny, 1200 as is, 3k if we fix it. Phish
YEP! Wiped out cam so parts on the way. Cam bearings look like new so just going to stuff runners and steam clean the whole thing. New parts on the way. I see a "d" but reads "p" when you stand beside the motor. Guess police motors have extra goodies. If no one needs it, we will keep it as a Lemon 24 spare. Phish
Cam is broke in, engine runs fine with no smoke or leaks and transmission shifts as it should. Engine cleaned inside and out, compression and springs check to spec. Will have new wires with stock looms installed as well as windage tray. (Had that off for cam breakin.) New 8 quart oil pan with deep pickup, new timing chain and gears, new Comp cam with lifters, new freeze plugs, new fuel and water pumps. I can text a vid of it running if your are interested.
