68 440 4 speed rear end?

Can anyone tell me what rear end came in a 68 440/4 speed c body? I was thinking 8 3/4 but wasn't sure.

I don't think Dana 60s were available in C bodies but someone should correct me shortly.

There were no C body Dana 60's but there was a 9 1/4 but I was thinking those came to use later?

Can't say I've ever heard of Dana "53" axle. Much less as factory installed option in a C body. I was thinking Dana 60 as an option in '68 behind a 440 4spd which Im still saying no..
But interesting if that is truely an original part..never say never!

The 9 1/4 rear was an option on a 68' C Body, and the assy is in the Service manual and Mopar parts book.

If it's an L code for '68 it's a 440

I saw one in a new Yorker with the 440 and a four speed. But You could order one as well. It could be bought with other features, such as Towing packages, etc.

The years are not Exact, but these are What Chrysler rears look like.

Wrong, that's a Dana 53.

The 9 1/4 inch referred to in the above lit is the Dana 60, not to be confused with the later 9 1/4 corporate.

FYI an "E" body Dana 60 almost an exact swap for a 65-66 C body, maybe others.
