I want to do the 727 to A518 swap but I have some questions about the swap in my Plymouth Fury 1974.
1. I know is necessary to modify the transmission crossmember to put the A518 in but I want to keep my original 727 parts away the swap so, Where can I buy a crossmember that I will be able to use for this swap? (In some forums some users said that the crossmember of 90s dodge vans are a good choice)
2. I want to buy an A518 with lock up so, the torque converter must be a lockup version?
3. What could happen if for example I'm going up a hill and I engage the lockup and floor the throttle?
4. What's more reliable, the A518 with lockup or a 727 with lockup and overdrive?
5. Does the A518 lockup transmissions are since 1996?
