Compared to some recent posts of the 1960-1 300 Letter cars recently needing restoration, this one looks like it could have some potential. I think it is overpriced but if the powertrain is still there and decent, maybe worth it. I have a request in to send some more photos and to give me more details, and will keep you updated.

Actually, on those cars the shifting was done by pushbuttons to the left side of the steering wheel. It is hard to tell, but it looks like those are still in place. The console housed a center armrest with storage below and a tachometer, which is the area where the two holes are. I am still hopeful all is still there under the hood since the rest of the car looks pretty complete, and given the price, should be.
 
Could be saved but wow...lots of work there and missing pieces. Not to mention the engine..is it there or ??? What about the title or other paper work? Looks like it's been there foreve.
Atypical CL lister..wants top dollar but not willing to take it to the next level by digging it out and making it look at least a bit more presentable.

If it is complete and pretty rust free (interior missing parts are not that much of a problem, but wheel covers missing would be), then it could come close to that asking price, maybe around $15K I would estimate. As mentioned earlier, I have sent him an email asking those and more questions. I will let you know what he says but since I wrote him and gave him a call about 8 hours ago with no response yet, that too is a typical Craigslist guy.
 
Guess I'm just getting too old to think in those numberz for that F or any other car that needz that much "bringin' back" Been there and done it and knew before I started that it waz and still iz cheaper to just buy one already done and spend less. More meat left on the bone that way and theirz no doubt about that!
 
If I only had more time and money. That would be a sweet ride.
 
A solid looking project for sure. I am wondering if the critters that dealt to the interior had a taste for the wiring as well. The missing cable drive tachometer may be a clue as to where the drive train is. More information is required from the seller....
 
If you look at what is and has been going on in Sweden with these old 300 letter cars, it seems there are enough restorers there that have the resources to restore these cars to a very high level, and they come out amazing. Those are the most likely candidates in my opinion to seek out cars such as these and are the ones driving the prices, not anyone in the U.S. that I know. This could be a pretty nice candidate, but since I have heard nothing back yet from the seller, I can only assume someone overseas has already landed it, but maybe not.

I gave the guy another call and got hold of him. He said he was slammed with calls on the car and has subsequently removed his phone number from the listing (which is true) and will only respond to emails when he gets more time. I can only wonder if this interest level is true. Seems unlikely, but who knows?

sure. but they are photo collectors and tire kickers. How many actually have interest and cash?

If it is in the same condition as the F you can probably double the asking price. Finned 'verts are rare (only 337 built) and bring a ton of money properly restored.
