I just discovered this car. It's called the AMX/3 Apparenty 6 where made & another was completed later from spare parts. Powered by an AMC 390 & a special 4 speed transaxle. All 7 cars are accounted for. The one in the picture belongs to a guy in Michigan. It needs restoring so apparently it was driving quite a bit or stored outside. Anyone have more info on these rare cars

I remember them. Seems to me they were even featured on a magazine ad, but I could be wrong.

I had no idea there were any sold though.

A good looking sports car. Would've been a hoot to drive too.
Aluminium construction?

I like that and I also like this. AMC certainly did come up with some cool cars. The Javelin/AMX, the Rebel and the AMX/2 and AMX/3 are just some that come to mind. It's hard to believe that they share even any DNA with the Pacer. The one thing that I always thought that AMC needed during the musclecar era was a bigger engine option than the 390 and 401. In my opinion something bigger, say 434 ci or so, would've been perfect as their big muscle motor.

That is such a cool car. It would have been something if AMC had put it in production (beyond the 7) and built a few. The yellow car is a needle in a haystack find, love it!

I remember seeing the red one on display at the Milwaukee plant on the rotating display on Richards Street.

This looks like a Meadowbrook Concourse circle display.
My GTO was displayed in a Muscle Car Circle at Meadowbrook years ago.
