I'm coming down near your neck of the woods in January for a week. Be prepared. I await your steakhouse recommendations.

That's great. I'll be on the lookout for a 20' lime. :) Weather is gorgeous.
What's your Itinerary?

BTW, a very nice, avatar. A sweet tribute.

Very nice tribute, I wish the picture wasn't so small.

No 20' lime, it could be anything. The only thing I know for sure is I fly in to Fort Myers on the 18th. My aunt has invited me to come down and spend some time at their place in Bonita Beach. How could I refuse.
That was a picture we took while on our cruise last year.

Beautiful picture, thanks for posting it full size.

I love Bonita.

X100.....what they said!

I can see a lifetime of joy and happiness!

Peter, while you are down there, you need to spend a day on Sanibel Island and Captiva. It's another world.
And the Ding Darling Preserve is a must while you are there.
A trip down to Venice Beach makes for a funky day, too.

Christmas on a cruise ship, that's different. Nothing to clean up, people waiting on your every whim........sounds like fun.

That is provided the ship makes it back under its own power.

Sanibel is great but very crowded if you don't know the back roads. Captiva will never be the same after hurricane Ike (I think, maybe it was Charlie). Best local food if you are going out there though is The Lazy Flamingo. There are two of them on Sanibel.

Ding Darling is pretty cool but I prefer the Everglades National Park which is southeast of Naples.

Venice is cool & you'll find sharks teeth on the beach but it's at least two hours from Bonita.

Here's my SW Florida tourist tip: go to the beach in Bonita & dine/shop in Naples.
