It's because of that reason I don't get anal about it. It's factory correct.
When I was putting the dash back together, I tried messing with it but I could tell that it was a fool's mission to continue trying.

You will notice though that the AC duct from the box to the R.H dash outlet is NOT hanging down below the dash unlike the other 95% of the 67/68's out there. That one I would not slide.

Love your car Stan...only thing I would change would be the moon covers. I would suggest you go with a set of the "Chrysler" Mexican hat dog dish caps...same ones I'm running on the wagon.

I'll keep an eye out on E-bay, and other sites, for a more economically priced set....;) Think I paid about $150 or so for all of mine.

Here is another set on E-bay...$200 for the set...not bad price wise I think.

But the facts are correct about Ford out selling Chevrolet in 1957.
Chevrolet outsold Ford by only 136 cars in the calendar year. Fords model year production for 1957 totaled 1,655,068 compaired to Chevrolets total model year production of 1,515,177.

I put a set on my 64 Dodge crew cab and they changed the entire look of the truck. They get compliments everywhere I go.

On the subject of 14 inch wheels. A very attractive and popular wheel cover back in the day was the 57 Plymouth "cone" shaped cover.
Dad bought a 57 Plymouth Custom suburban wagon new that came with these caps. They were stolen and replaced a half a dozen times. The insurance companys must have bought thousands of them.
