cooling fan clearance?

Guys I have a 361 motor w the 4 blade fan mounted to the water pump, I woukd like to install a 6 blade fan w clutch. I havent completely bolted it up yet but looks to be 3/4 clearance from the fan to the radiator, is this enough?
I also am planning on fabricating a cooling shroud for it if this clearance is good.

I think 1" is ideal but 3/4" should be fine.

Thanks guys, installed today, fits fine, 3/4 to the clutch and 1 inch to the blades clearance to the rad. No noises and plenty of room. Moves way more air. Will be playing w the shroud next.

1/2" to 3/4" back from the rad is the general rule. If it works with an inch clearance then that's great, As for the shroud, 1" larger opening then the fan blade diameter and no more then 2"'s from the cooling fins.

Thanks, I didnt know the clearance for the shroud to the rad. I will try to keep it tight. Going to get some foam insulation to cut the pattern out and go from there.
