Sealed the deal and got this one home today. A super solid 68 Polara.....and it's a factor big block car. Unfortunately, the 383 is stuck from sitting with no spark plugs. Guess I'm going to have to round up a replacement. Other than that, she need a few trim pieces and a good clean up to be on the road again.

Nice! I never get tired of the side markers on 68 Chryslers. Save that original motor, you won't regret it.

congrats nice fast top, have you tried pouring some tranny fluid down each spark plug hole let it sit for a day or to,and try to break it free by hand, with a big breaker bar of course...

excellent find............. so much potential that looks like may have been neglected...:congratualtions:

Or Marvins Mystery oil. I would let it sit all week, and gently work it back and fourth. You just might get lucky, and if not your just out of a little time.

Congrats on the purchase!

How about a front shot of the car?

BTW, MMO works really well as well as diesel fuel..

Great looking car, congrats!
I got a 340 that was very stuck freed up with a mix of trans fluid and acetone(I think?) 50/50. I'd try to get it freed up and if it ended up not taking very long I bet you could get it running without disassembly. It took well over a week of soaking the 340 and rocking it back and forth with a breaker bar so there was no making that car run, in fact I had to pull the heads because of the amount of junk that had accumulated atop one of the pistons. But if you got this engine to turn over by hand after only a short period of time, like a day or two, I'd flush it thoroughly and start running some clean oil through it while still rotating by hand, then button her up and try and fire it. You'll either find out why it hasn't been run in so long or you may be pleasantly surprised.
Obviously there will be some red flags that might pop up through the whole process that may tell you why they stopped driving it but if no flags pop up I'd say fire it up!:toothy10:

It looks like the previous owner was starting to take the top end apart when he abandoned the project. So I might just pop the heads off and see if there is anything obviously wrong. Soak the cylinders down with lube while I have it open and see if I can get the bottom end to free up.
