So this fall/winter im planning to swap out the original heater core in my 70 Newport. Its leaky and Im seeing small dribbles of antifreeze running down onto the pass and drivers side floor. Can it be done without removing the entire dashboard (has anyone actually done that)? I so dont want to have to do that. Thoughts?

Gary, you've shown that you can do just about any major job.
I will suggest two things.
It has to be done. Please do not go the by-pass route. I would never talk to you again.
And the mental preparedness part: Plan on it being laid up for longer than you plan for.
Godspeed, my friend. Off with you and slay the dragon.

I think the hardest part is coming up with a new heater core for a reasonable price. The rest is just going to be a PITA, but it can be done.
