I Have Cold A/C

Took my 74 Monaco wagon to my son's to see if we could get the A/C working. Sucked it down and it held a vacuum so we charged it and it works great! It had already at some time been converted to 134 so that's what went in. Now pretty much everything works on the car. Oh, and ambient temperature was 72 degrees.

Yes it is a good split! Of course my son does it right and weighs it so he puts the right amount in. More is not always better with freon!

I'm really tempted to buy a used Robinair unit myself. Separate gauges, scales, and vacuum pumps just aren't my thing.

In the late Seventies I had a '65 Crown Coupe as a daily driver. When the guy at the shop charged the AC he said there was 34 degrees at the vents. I am glad to see that it still can happen!

I have like 6 cans of R12 in my cabinet. I am going to recharge the A/C on my 74' New Yorker and on my 70' Charger for this summer.
