I saw this, realized how insignificant I am.

That kinda project is impressive to see, a great human achievement, but after watching some of those trendy off-grid, make-your-own-lumber shows I've come to the following 2 conclusions:
1. Those projects get completed in an acceptable timeframe when you have no job, or children to raise, or other related obligations (and with the help of a producer with a video editing team).
2. We view the stars of these shows as rugged individuals, but I'd bet most of those people probably couldn't hack it in the rat-race business world of outsourcing, frequent business re-orgs, office politics, while trying to figure out which healthcare plan you should choose. I think Mother Nature and grizzly bears might be more forgiving.

Not meant to start a catfight, just an observation.
Yeah... that might be why they're out there building a life with nothing but two hands and a strong back. Still, WOW. I am not the one to take on that...
