Impster - the big&white

The left c pillar wasn´t smooth enough, so more sanding will be needed before gluing the vinyl in place. Tomorrow I´ll go at a local tire shop to get new rubber around the wheels.

I tried to get a pic showing the fender top molding totally sharp, but my Canon couldn´t do that:

Once I get Lee I will check out all her tags, etc...wonder if the Impster and Lee were close together in the production number sequence, etc...?

That will be interesting. Does Lee have a single or dual A/C and how about the Sure-Brake?

A 202 build date is probably February 2, 1973. Doc will note the date on the sales agreement in the glovebox isn't long after the build date, so she was shipped to Alice Texas soon afterwards, and sold.

Don't confuse the sequence number with build order - bodies were likely stored and randomly built - nobody would have said you have to build body 1 first followed by body 2 etc, build date is the important fact, but there is no way of knowing that Lee was the first, middle, or last imperial or car built at the plant that day.

This "would" be known if the information which has been lost were available, but who really cares, "we" have beautiful vehicles and can enjoy them how we wish.

Good luck and happy motoring with yours in Finland.

The vents are yet to be repaired and the master switch panel must be replaced, but at least I can play with the power antenna.:D

You lucky son of a .... you know my power antenna use to work. Now it gets stuck at the second to lowest setting. It’s a nub now. I think I played with it too much.

The new tires are now installed and gluing the vinyl on is pretty close now (maybe on the list tomorrow) and the right front bumper guard is not wobbly and making clunking sounds anymore. Whether you´re bored of the seeing either of the C-pillars or not, here is the LH unit shown among other things. The white wall protector is still on the tires, because I like to wash the whole car instead of a certain area.

I must remember that only the left front hub has left hand threaded lugs whereas all others have righties.:realcrazy:

What happened there? They ditched that way before '73. I'd recommend pulling it and putting on the right hand studs, before you have it some where and some numb skull really effs them up!

Don´t know, but I guess that someone replaced them along with the brake parts because the left rotor is a lot better than the right unit. The studs are on the ``to replace`` list when I manage to track down new brake rotors.

Oops.
The left C-pillar had two little pits and the right one was somewhat rough around the edge of the foam, so a rerun is needed because the flaws were notified too late.:BangHead:

Since somebody might ask about the contact adhesive, this yummy jelly from Pattex is and will be used.

I bit the bullet and gave a try to paint with a real paint gun. The rearmost areas of C-pillars got some polyurethane to help fill the holes and form the vinyl top smooth after they´re shaped with a knife. Now the panel under the steering column is reinstalled.

Now a proper air cleaned has been ticked off of the bucket list, but more on that at the right time. I´ll dump that freaking Holley next winter.

Whoever can tell the purpose of this notch on the front side window (4drs with vent wings only) deserves a beer or two.
