Tomorrow we get paint on Impster, exhaust turndowns will be realigned, and the spare wheel waits for monting a tire onto it.

The tips are tucked better now, but I have started to think about getting a set of over axle pipes, correct turndows, receptacles etc. from TTI because the current hangers are stupid IMO and the tail pipes are routed incorrectly.

Nice work young man, I’m assuming your young.

I made a door splash shield from scratch today.

One switch was in need of super glue and...

This is the spare, so I don´t have creep behind a Ford driver while being afraid of a flat.

The size (235/75R-15 on a 15x6 wheel) is correct as can be, because a "full size spare tire" was optional. That requires a spare tire cover because Impster has both the dual A/C and the accessory package. The road will lead at the local Eurokangas, yet I hate sewing.

Driving impressions: The 79 M-body LeBaron is a lot nicer to drive than the 04 Sebring, but unsurprisingly it cannot match the excellence and superb characteristics of the real deal C-body LeBaron. Afterwards mom told that ``now I know, what´s it like to be an astronaut.``

``No ma´am, the 360 has no torque, so I had to get power from upper RPM ranges, but moving Impster with the 440 will be smoother.``

Or maybe I pursued rump rump rump wroooom...

In two or three weeks I´ll take Impster out. If finishing will go well, she´ll be on road to get at the scrap market/car meet held annually by Automobile Museum of Espoo every Mothers´ day or at earliest a few days before the Vantaa Cruising of May, so I can give the promised ride to a few of my friends.:steering:

I like ´em! What do you others think now with the skirts on? The blue protection grease has to be removed, the skirts could be aligned better and then there´s the leaky oil pan gasket in the transmission, which will be replaced next Sunday. Saturday I´ll be at Hot Rod&Rock Show in Tampere.

@detmatt

Matt, I´ve got two questions for you:
Do the 67-68 wheel covers have a little gap in relation to the wheel rim, although they do not have the cooling slots like 66s do?
If the answer is no to the first, are the 67-69 wheels so much different than 70-73s that the covers do not sit flush when mounted to the newer wheels?

You are a lucky young man to have such a car at that age ! You also have a lot of talent, Your Dad must be proud ! I would be ;-D

Thank you! Dad is actually quite envious about the car, but most other car hobbyists will not believe that I have a car of that type before repeating and showing a few pics.:D

It’s hard to tell what kind of gap you have by the pictures but it doesn’t look excessive. I know nothing about if or how the wheels changed after ‘68.
Those do look great on your car though.

The Corvette guy asked me: "Is the ferry leaving now?"
I had to say: "No, still some work to do."

So we replaced the transmission oil pan gasket and added ATF today. After pouring the first quart I thought that the coolant started to circle in another guy´s AMC and dad was thinking that the ATF made the slurping sound. No way, I happened to glance at the floor and there it was, the funnel was a bit off guiding the fluid on the floor. :BangHead: Fortunately the AMC guy had a bucket full of woodchips at hand.
It looks like the trans oil pan has been replaced with a deeper unit.

Some tweaks are still waiting for doing, so the original schedule is firm. The spring is early this year, we´re not slow.:D

The fan shroud had to be removed because the fan come into contact with it, but it needs some fiberglass work and grinding to make it usable. My dad noticed that the right hi beam does not light up, so I tore it down, though I´ll replace it later because sealed beam units are not too easy to find and I practically never use hi beams while on the road with Impster. One of our friends tried to smoothen the small dent on the right rear door.

A few video clips are coming once they load.
This was taken in the home parking lot, to where I have no chance to get in the Imp.

The alternator had to be loosened, but the uppermost mounting hole has some worn threads. That was solved with a nut&bolt solution.

The dent is still there. Can you see it?:poke:

The quality is not good, but any way...

Recording the sound inside a hall tones it down quite a lot, but I´m not going to make her any quieter.:D
Better stuff coming while I´m out in the wild.

The head light and black bezel found their way back to where they belong and the gas gauge is functional. Credit for that goes to dad (again).
